My name is Darin Foulkes. I grew up in St. Charles, PEI, and graduated from Souris High in 1987. I went on to further studies, and now have a diploma in Broadcasting from Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario, as well as a diploma in Multimedia from Holland College.
I worked in television news for 15-years, including 8-years with CBC in Chalottetown.
I am also a member of the Association of Personal Historians. This group has over 600 members worldwide. I am the only Canadian member east of Montreal.
Over the years, I have interviewed many famous people including provincial premiers, Prime Minister Jean Chretien, and golfer Tiger Woods. However, it is the stories of ordinary folks that I find most interesting. I have decided to combine my experience in television with my interest in personal history to help Islanders understand the importance of their own personal history, and to help preserve their stories.
