Many people do realize the importance of preserving their personal history, but find that it is more work than they bargained for. Starting to write your life story with nothing more than a blank piece of paper is a daunting, if not impossible task. A Foulkes Productions video biography makes the process of preserving your legacy an enjoyable experience.
Step 1) I will visit with the person(s) who would like to have the video done. We will discuss the importance of the project, and the themes to be included in the video. For a list of biography themes, click here.
Step 2) From the initial meeting, I will print a custom "Workbook" for the honoree to complete. This workbook contains many questions relating to the themes that you have chosen for the video. These workbooks are designed to spark the memory, and to help prepare for the interview. The honoree then spends days or weeks jotting down notes in the workbook, and browsing through family photos, choosing the ones that would be placed in the video. (Many families choose to do this together, and can be a very rewarding experience).
Step 3) Once the workbook is completed, I will meet with the honoree to discuss the completed workbook, to scan all the photos, and to set up another day to do the interview.
Step 4) Interview Day – Lights, camera, and action! There’s no need to be nervous, as the interview is more like a casual conversation, where we chat about your life stories. This on-camera interview can be done anyplace you feel comfortable. There will be no surprises, as we chat about all the memories that you’ve already jotted down in your workbook.
Step 5) I incorporate the interview, along with the scanned photos, add music (you can supply music if you like), and some graphics to complete a final product, delivered on DVD... a lasting legacy!
